The winners of 2025 ERC Synergy Grants from the CNRS
The results of the 'ERC Synergy Grant' call for 2025 have just been published: 13 of the winning projects involve CNRS researchers or researchers from joint research units.
As provided for by the Horizon Europe framework programme for research and innovation, the European Research Council has selected 66 projects to benefit from a total budget of €684 million. 712 proposals were submitted in response to the 2025 'ERC Synergy Grant' call for projects. France is a partner in 21 projects - just behind Germany (with 29 projects). 13 of the winning French projects involve researchers from joint units managed by the CNRS and its partners.
These grants have a 6-year duration and a maximum value of €10 million. They are intended to enable groups of 2 to 4 scientists from European member or associate countries to "address some of the world’s most formidable research problems spanning a range of scientific disciplines".
